Cable-stayed Bridges
In a cable-stayed bridge, cables attached to towers hold up the deck. The cables are in tension, pulling up on the deck, while the towers are compressed, because they are pushed down by the cables. Cable-stayed bridges are long bridges. During construction, towers are first built. Then, bits of the deck are made, along with the cable supporting them.
